[16:32] * bvowk unloads a clip of 5.56mm rounds into datagram to get his attention.. [16:32] hrm.. [16:32] wrong game.. [16:32] * bvowk dats datagram [16:33] What [16:34] heh [16:34] whats up? [16:34] Nothing [16:34] Gotta run soon [16:35] bvowk, Goign to defcon? [16:35] not likely.. its in a fascist country [16:36] although its tempting.. our dollar is pretty much at par [17:11] Join: Fluffy joined #corewars [17:11] :) [17:11] Is Tuc again working on the irc server? I had problems connecting to irc.koth.org. [17:11] prob at your end [17:12] must be user error [17:12] k [17:21] whatcha doing fluffy? [17:22] Writing a new warrior. The two that I've worked on the last days didn't make it onto the hill :( [17:23] Join: Roy joined #corewars [17:23] Hi Roy [17:23] Hello dear Fluffy! [17:23] * Fluffy hugs Roy [17:23] Peace to the world! [17:23] lol [17:23] * Fluffy keels bvowk [17:23] Hi bvowk my friend [17:27] heya [17:28] * Roy is intrested in Gbuy, might be a quick way to transfer my adsense money into something other then a number on a website :-) [17:28] * Fluffy sighs [17:29] Gbuy isn't even launched and almost everybody has already switched off their brains and goes for it [17:29] No, not really, I never used PayPal or eBay before.. [17:40] MSG: Ping timeout: 252 seconds [17:43] Join: Roy joined #corewars [17:43] Whoopsie, dropped my fragile hub [17:43] But seems to be working again [17:47] Hubs are not made for falling.. :( [17:48] Then don't let them fall. It's obvious even to me [17:48] ;-) [17:49] Its a miracle it even made it to the ground, there are cables everywhere comming out of it.. I always thought that would hold it suspended in mid-air [17:50] hehe [17:58] MSG: Quit: fluffy.i < 1, # 42 [18:46] Join: heath joined #corewars [18:47] I just finished the sketch of my evolver. [18:48] He just made a chromasome with a fitness of 4.846154. :) [18:49] s/chromasome/chromosome/ [19:00] Lunch time. [19:03] I think all heath does is come in and then leave for lunch :) [19:56] MSG: [20:01] I'm back. :) [20:02] Join: Fluffy joined #corewars [20:02] :) [20:03] Yay, I now have a chromosome with a fitness of 6.615385. [20:03] ? [20:03] At this rate, it will only take an exruciatingly long time to get a viable warrior. [20:05] And how do you measure your "chromonsone fitness2? [20:05] And how do you define a chromosone? [20:05] The average of scores of fighting against wilbez. [20:06] k [20:06] A chromosome is a set a genes, dar. [20:06] :) [20:06] haha [20:06] and gene = insn? [20:06] Yeah. [20:06] and how do you distinguish a chromosone from a warrior? [20:06] There's also info held in a chromosome for the bookkeeping and what not. [20:07] A have a function that writes a warrior when given a chromosome. [20:07] hmm [20:07] what are you using to run your battles? [20:08] pmars. [20:08] Yes, I know. Don't make fun of me. [20:08] ouch [20:08] pmars is slow [20:08] This was just a quick sketch. [20:08] I'll use fmars in my next iteration. [20:09] Hey, just broke 7. [20:09] you know python? [20:09] you could try pymars.. [20:09] fluffy here is the dev-leper [20:09] I run alot of exhaust and fmars.. [20:09] Not really, just a tad. I once wrote a blender export script... oh nevermind, you know about that. [20:10] I lean towards exhaust more than fmars, because while fmars is fast, you've got to pick a subset.. [20:10] Ah. Maybe I'll look into exhaust. [20:10] heath: Why do you evolve for 94nop? Evolving for tiny or nano is way faster [20:10] that way you can quickly check, whether you evolver works. [20:11] After that you can steal all of bvowk's computers to evolve for 94nop :) [20:11] :) [20:12] exhaust is pretty nice.. [20:12] it runs on *ANYTHING* and its rock solid.. [20:12] and he who must not be named is in constant contact with me :) [20:12] (I think I'm responsible for at least a couple version numbers, and a bunch of unpublished version hacks) [20:13] bvowk: by the way ... did you have the time to take a look at PyCorewar? [20:14] I compiled it.. [20:14] and wrote a simple text.. [20:14] hehe ... you forgot [20:14] er. test.. [20:14] and that was about as far I got :) [20:14] I'm hoping to take 5 days off here shortly.. so then I'll take a look [20:14] ok ... just tell when you are done :) [20:34] heath: And now? at 8? [20:39] I really hate the weather forcast. They've predicted rain for the last couple of days. And what do I get? No rain :( [20:47] Fluffy: Looks like the biggest so far is 7.384615. :( [20:48] His name is ab7 :). [20:52] The population is definately getting better, though. It looks like an average aof about 3.something now, where it started at barely above zero. [20:52] hmm [20:57] I think it is interesting when a couple mate, and one child is (relatively) viable, where the other is a complete catastrophe. [20:58] "complete catastropes" usually die [20:58] (in nature) [20:59] As do they in my evolver. [20:59] :) [21:18] MSG: Quit: humhum [21:30] * Fluffy prays to the Rain God and makes a wish [21:30] Time to get some sleep. [21:30] * Fluffy waves [21:30] Part: Fluffy left #corewars [21:48] My evolver sucks. :( [21:49] It has plateued with all solutions depending on one instruction: [21:49] START DJN.F # 3003, { -3442 [21:50] (however they all have tons of fun random, ununsed instructions around it). [23:18] do you use scanners in your benchmark? or just let the soup boil by itself? [23:41] Well, I am using wilbez. [23:42] I haven't really looked very closely at what is in there, but I imagine there are some scanners in it. [23:49] hmm [23:50] 2 oneshots, 2 scanners, and a bomber/shot [23:50] djn-trains should have hard time already [23:51] considering there are papers too [23:56] yeah. [23:56] Time to go home now, though. [23:56] See you tomorrow. [23:56] MSG: Quit: Home time. [23:56] I had coreclear-problems while testing out species, and i partially fixed it with ugly but working solution [23:57] In species, every newly created warrior is put through a test-fight against a dummy warrior to see if the new one suicides; i replaced it with an anti-clear/djntrain/oneshot -warrior
