[20:37] Are you new here? [20:37] Nope, been here longer than you. ;) Lemme change my ID... [20:37] Nick Change: Itsme changed nick to Tuc [20:37] :-) [20:37] Hi Tuc [20:38] Thanks for putting log_guy back up [20:38] Hey.... I was just using a new shell server and saw someone on IRC with a program I never used, so figured I'd give it a try. [20:38] The logging is working again BTW [20:38] Now I won't miss anything [20:38] I had to put a sleep between the IRC starting and the logger. It seems to have started too fast and then not connected. [20:39] Sorry about that.... I did check to see if the process was running, but I didn't actually check to see if it was LOGGING. :-/ [20:39] There seems to be a very strange bug with koth! [20:39] Do tell! [20:39] A warrior will be knocked off the hill [20:40] But then occasionally when the next challenger is sent, the hill will revert to how it was before it was knocked off. [20:41] Ok... I know how that can happen, now I just need to see if I can figure out why it happens. [20:41] Before a battle, a copy of the hill is made. After the battle is finished, the copy (old) is deleted. [20:41] I did save some examples, but I can't find the file. [20:42] IF, however, at some point up until it actually deleted the old hill it runs into an error of some sort, it immediately exits. When the next battle runs, if it sees an old hill, it restores it before running. [20:42] So it probably means at some point something is causing the hill to crash, and when the next person submits it reverts to the old copy. [20:43] It might be handy to know how to do, just in case my favourite warrior gets pushed off! [20:43] HA HA HA! [20:43] What a card John... So where are the other 51 to make a full deck? ;) [20:45] Have you seen El Kauka's web comics? http://www.familie-kersten.homepage.t-online.de/johannes/cwcomics.txt [20:46] No, never had. Cute. :) [20:46] I like number 3 best [20:47] Fatal error in simulator. Please report this error. [20:47] res1: Subscript out of range. [20:47] BINGO [20:48] Chal failed. Reverting. [20:48] :-) [20:48] This looks like a problem in pmars! [20:48] Oh. [20:48] Is it a particular warrior which killed pmars? [20:49] I won't be able to tell..... [20:49] Which version are you using? [20:49] portable MARS v0.8.0, 8/5/95, corewar simulator with ICWS'94 extensions [20:51] v9.2 is here, it might fix some bugs http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3452 [20:51] I mean 0.9.2 [20:54] I have to see... I actually have 2 versions, one I have to make some change (I don't remember off hand) for one of the hills. [20:55] Is that for the 94nop hill, to disable pspace? [20:55] Thats it, yea. I called the binary "pmarsnopspace" [20:59] I'd also have to make VERY SURE the output was formatted the same. [21:03] I'll post a message on the group for someone to help. [21:03] Yes, that's a good plan [21:04] Lemme go do that, and see what I can find out... Talk later... [21:05] MSG: Quit: ircII EPIC4-2.6 -- Are we there yet?
