[17:00] There's always "nighttime" somewhere on earth. So you constantly disconnect. [17:01] Fluffy: i wouldn't be surprised it's somehow related to the whole strike thing going on at the german telco lately [17:01] That would be nice, but I highly doubt that. [17:04] * Fluffy feels sick from eating too many strawberries. [17:42] * bvowk stabs fluffy in the stomach with a pointy finger [17:43] I love you, too, bvowky! [17:47] * Fluffy is eating some more strawberries ... [17:48] They are too delicious [17:58] Join: brx joined #corewars [17:58] Hey, brx. Nice too see you! [18:00] hey Fluffy, just checking in to see if anything exciting happened here :) [18:00] Fluffy: what have you been up to? [18:00] CoreWarrior #92 :) [18:00] ... and working on some '94nop-warrior [18:01] reading [18:02] :) [18:05] MSG: Ping timeout: 240 seconds [18:05] Join: Caelian|w joined #corewars [18:15] oh, and greetings from me too, brx [18:19] ah, hey Mizcu ! :) [18:20] Mizcu: what have _you_ been up to in all this time? :) [18:20] very little [18:20] though my curse is still upon me [18:20] what curse? [18:21] you remember my demon-finalfantasy game? It still in my head [18:22] no matter how much i try dumping or thinking its redicilousness, i still cant get rid of it [18:22] I am not sure you ever told me about in in this detail ("demon-finalfantasy"?) [18:23] don't worry, we all have ridiculous things going on in our heads. me and michal were quite close in reaching the imagine cup finals in korea. [18:23] oh, i did tell, but its been quite a while [18:24] and had we not worked only 13 hours of the months we were given, well. :( [20:48] Part: brx left #corewars [21:02] /¤H%/¤%S/ [21:02] no, i am not coding Perl [21:16] why cant i fucking find a good hardware compatibility list for linux [21:16] because there isn't a single version of "linux" [21:17] quite yes, but still [21:19] most hardware-producers themselves would rather spread their behind wide than claim linux-compatibility [21:21] thinking of putting up a small server for mysekf [21:22] use *BSD [21:22] there's good HCLs [21:24] then there is the question of which of the three bsd's [21:24] I use free for most everything.. [21:24] heck, id install opensolaris just to rub on people's face, but it has pretty horrible compatibility [21:24] open when I want to secure something [21:25] you can't actually install opensolaris. [21:25] you need a working solaris first ;) [21:30] Amd mobile or Intel M? [21:31] (not planning to put much money on hardware) [21:31] doesn't really matter either way [21:55] ugh, i am really, really hating the computer-stores today [21:56] one store i mostly trust just pulled their machine-maker(?) off [21:56] (one where you choose parts for a puter from pulldown-menus) [22:04] yay, my current motherboard is Atx, cant put in in the box [22:05] you've got non atx hardware still? [22:05] I've only got my retrocomputer thats not atx.. [22:05] and a couple homebrews.. [22:06] i am planning to put the server in the pull-out box in my shelf [22:06] mAtx fits just barely in it [22:08] heh [22:08] any reason why? [22:08] Epia would cost twice what motherboard+processor would.. [22:08] because if i put it in a case, mom will have a fit [22:09] she's got a computer count limit? [22:10] yes [22:10] you need an office! [22:11] I highly recommend offices.. [22:11] and maybe a server room.. because its nice if your office isn't noisy ;) [22:11] my next home is going to have a chilled water loop too [22:14] so, I bought a bike at auction a couple weekends ago.. [22:14] paid 45$ [22:15] but it needed new crank bearings.. so I bought them.. $1 each [22:15] but I needed a pedal arm extractor.. so I bought that.. $29 [22:15] and I needed some teflon lube for the crank, because I'm kind of an asshole that way. [22:16] $11 [22:16] then I needed to tweak the front shifting assembly (I won't try to spell what its really called) [22:16] which required a strangely sized torx key that I didn't have :( $10 for that [22:17] and then I was pedalling away, enjoying the day and having a nicely tuned bicycle.. [22:17] and I break the fscking shifter! [22:18] stupid little bit of plastic breaks loose, jamming the cable [22:20] I'm starting to suspect that I should have bought a new bike ;) [22:20] considering what I charge others for my time, I could have bought a very very expensive bike by now.. nevermind that I've spent more than the bike is worth on parts.. [22:45] maybe i should just get some motherboard and trust that it works [22:45] Via, Nforce, Intel, there arent others [22:46] (around here atleast, and Epia is not a goal) [23:58] bah, irc slienced everywhere
