[16:14] you wipe the opponent, and then put another bomb after? [16:14] Trust me, there was a reason, I just don't remember it right now.\ [16:15] ah, i founded one weakness [16:16] ok, i think i know now why you switched to additional clear [16:17] so you spent time manipulating the scanner, and switched the bomb from spl #0, {0 to spl #1, {1, as youve read from somewhere that throwing 1,1's around was good [16:17] but then it didnt fare any better against papers [16:18] you checked out, and noticed that while it stunned good, it didnt kill opponents [16:18] so you switched to clear and it started killing opponents better in endgame [16:19] Join: Core_new_ joined #corewars [16:19] the reason is, that when reaching end-game, HSA-style scanners attack everything that doesnt have 0,0 -fields (because of the jmz.f, jmz.f) [16:20] when you throw 1,1-bombs around, you create more places to attack, most useless [16:20] HSA got around this by using spl #0, {0 -bombs [16:20] since they remain zero if they miss an opponent, and turn into 0,-1 when hitting an opponent [16:20] so: [16:21] turn bomb-1 into ordinary dat 0,0 and bomb into spl #0, {0 [16:21] then turn tmp+2 into jmp atk, {atk [16:21] but that turns your warrior into another HSA-copy =/ [16:22] HSA has proven to be very hard to modify and improve from the original form [16:24] (but rather than making the warrior better, it is more important that you understand now how the HSA worked) [16:25] you blown away, confused with a sock in mouth, or just otherwise quiet? [16:26] Was messing with it in another window. [16:26] But yeah, I'll look at blur now [16:43] (jmn.f, jmz.f , -1,0 -bombs, i write faster than i think so i get glitches) [17:15] Join: fiveop joined #corewars [17:29] MSG: Ping timeout: 252 seconds [18:40] MSG: Read error: Operation timed out [19:22] Join: Core_new_ joined #corewars [21:19] Part: Core_new_ left #corewars [21:27] MSG: Quit: humhum [23:31] Join: Nol joined #corewars [23:32] Yar [23:35] ya [23:37] :o [23:38] So, being new, I'm curious about something - I haven't fond any really god resources on vampires and why did the '94 standard make them obsolete?
