[14:53] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [14:53] Hi :-) [14:53] Hi [14:55] Hi Xashi [14:55] Are you new to Corewar? [14:56] Yes [14:56] Just ask if you need any help [14:56] Have you checked the link in the topic? [14:57] Started a month ago [14:57] Yeah .. looked through all [14:59] Have you tried submitting anything to the beginner hill? [15:00] Sadly without any success :D [15:00] Oh :-( [15:00] But I will try it with a new Warrior later [15:02] Try sending to with a ;redcode-94b line [15:02] Slavedriver shouldn't have any problems getting on [15:08] Ok [15:14] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [15:15] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [15:16] Hey, thanks .. i'm on :) [15:30] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [15:32] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [15:53] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [15:54] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [15:58] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [16:00] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [16:13] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [16:14] Join: Metcalf joined #corewars [16:36] MSG: Ping timeout: 245 seconds [16:50] MSG: Quit: Trillian (http://www.ceruleanstudios.com [18:19] Join: Yene joined #corewars [18:19] aloah [18:20] was macht das "<" in mov.i bomb, http://www.mynetcologne.de/~nc-zapfsa/files/Handbuch.pdf [18:22] (sorry, dont speak/read german myself) [18:22] a question to the german manual [18:24] what does "<" stand for? [18:25] well, do you understand what @ does mean in redcode? [18:26] direct access to the value of the pointer? [18:27] it uses the value in the target instruction's b-field as a pointer [18:28] < does the same, but it reduces the value by one before using it as a pointer [18:29] ah thx [18:29] which manual do you recommend for a beginner as me [18:30] s/as/like [18:30] unfortunately we dont have really good tutorials around, the one written by Karonen is only in english [18:31] where can i found it? [18:31] http://vyznev.net/corewar/guide.html [18:32] thx [18:32] because of the lack of tutorials, ive been trying to make up for it by being a 'teacher' on this channel [18:33] you could write a tutorial [18:34] and redcode is thankfully simple enough that its doesnt have any secrets that you couldnt find without just playing around with it [18:34] yes, ive been thinking of making a complete new tutorial, but there are couple things that we have to take care of first [18:34] why does everyone say: i understand redcode but i have no good warrior :/ [18:36] because people want to create something new, and not just copy something and change couple numbers [18:42] thank you teacher ;-) [18:57] Neo: a dat $0? laaaaaame [19:07] Join: Neo_away joined #corewars [19:08] lame? :¬| [19:08] Nick Change: Neo_away changed nick to Neogryzor [19:15] the manual is really good [19:41] MSG: Quit: Manchmal muss man aus dem IRC um im IRC zu bleiben. [19:47] Join: Xashi joined #corewars [19:47] Hi [19:48] hi [20:12] hey Mizcu, do you known how to configure a benchmark for Optimax? [20:13] it shouldnt be hard [20:13] well, depends [20:14] you can just dump the warriors, make a couple files and run it, but youll be missing some details [20:14] compare the additional files at fsh94nop0.2 vs 0.3 [20:16] The problem is: It does not classify the warriors in the benchmark correctly. Optimax reports everyone as undefined, ('ano') [20:16] It works well though [20:18] It also reports a couple of 'uninitialized value" warnings about . I think that could be the problem [20:19] Something must be wrong in the classes definition file, and can't find what. :( [20:20] unix-style end-of-lines and tab-separated folder/description/color? [20:21] I copied those from the fsh tiny [20:21] (to make sure they were right) [20:22] e-mail zapf? [20:22] maybe the do not appear properly in the Windows notepad [20:22] not yet [20:23] they do appear "properly" in notepad, the EOL's as black boxes [20:23] hollow boxes [20:23] which really pisses me off, since 60% of warrior-files are unix-files that dont shot properly in notepad [20:24] I'm looking in Wordpad, same format, it's ok [20:28] mmm... fixed the warnins by romeving an excess EOL, but it still can't find the classes [20:29] romeving=removing. typos...
