The pizza hills are back and so are we. Sorry for the short vacation, but there just wasn't much to report on in the last few weeks. The new 'test' option is seeing heavy use. There are disagreements whether tests results should be included in the standard output reporting option. Personally, I would like the option of not receiving test results. Also, the 'testing' will greatly reduce artificial hill aging (wasn't that the point?), and along with it--entries into the Hall of Fame. Is there something we should do about this? Perhaps the most important question about the 'test' option is whether it is safe or not. Should test warriors be allowed to ;kill a warrior on the hill? --M R Bremer ______________________________________________________________________________ Current Status of the Internet Pizza Server ICWS '94 Draft Hill: Hill Specs: coresize: 8000 max. processes: 8000 duration: after 80,000 cycles, a tie is declared. max. entry length: 100 minimum distance: 100 rounds fought: 200 instruction set: ICWS '94 Draft The current ICWS '94 Draft hill: # %W / %L / %T Name Author Score Age 1 38.6/ 20.4/ 41.0 unrequited love kafka 156.7 22 2 43.3/ 36.7/ 20.0 Probe Anton Marsden 150.0 102 3 46.5/ 43.6/ 9.9 Q^2 Miro Anders Ivner 149.4 152 4 37.4/ 25.7/ 36.9 Simple v0.4b Ian Oversby 149.2 53 5 39.5/ 31.0/ 29.5 Flimsy v0.5a Ian Oversby 147.9 1 6 43.4/ 41.5/ 15.1 Blur 2 Anton Marsden 145.4 101 7 29.6/ 13.8/ 56.6 Return Of The Jedimp John K W 145.3 90 8 32.8/ 20.4/ 46.8 Rosebud Beppe 145.1 775 9 42.6/ 40.8/ 16.6 Goldfinch P.Kline 144.4 43 10 37.0/ 29.9/ 33.1 September Beppe 144.0 4 11 40.3/ 38.1/ 21.6 mrb-test m r bremer 142.5 8 12 39.7/ 37.3/ 23.0 Yogi Bear P.Kline 142.0 306 13 40.0/ 38.7/ 21.2 Test Anton Marsden 141.3 12 14 36.0/ 31.0/ 33.0 Falcon v0.3 Ian Oversby 141.1 7 15 39.5/ 38.2/ 22.2 T.N.T. pro Maurizio Vittuari 140.9 820 16 41.4/ 43.1/ 15.5 Earthquake v0.2 Bjoern & Ian 139.7 59 17 41.4/ 43.7/ 14.9 myVamp5.4 Paulsson 139.1 150 18 26.5/ 14.0/ 59.5 ompega Steven Morrell 138.9 217 19 41.5/ 46.0/ 12.5 Mist P.Kline 137.0 42 20 28.4/ 21.3/ 50.3 Armory II John K W 135.5 241 21 40.0/ 44.7/ 15.3 Harmony P.Kline 135.2 67 22 32.7/ 31.7/ 35.6 Jack in the box II Beppe Bezzi 133.7 459 23 29.5/ 25.6/ 44.9 Ties, Ties, Ties! Tsunami is new and sits atop the heap. But is Ian playing fair when he has over three warriors to his name on the '94 draft hill? Bad boy. Ross Morgan-Linial is trying out some super-imp program on the draft hill, but it has yet to claim a solid rank. He is well represented on the b-hill with 7 warriors. ______________________________________________________________________________ The Hint Sorry no hint this issue. I probably won't have any hints until I start actively playing again. Maybe when I get my class schedule under control . . ______________________________________________________________________________ Questions? Concerns? Comments? Complaints?
