Well, here is the first release of the Warrior Library! It currently has
most of the redcode warrior I could collect for both the ICWS '88 standard
and the eXtended standard. Later versions of the library will have more
warriors, better organization, and maybe a couple of other goodies tossed
in with them. Currently, I will only release this version for Unix, but
I will release an MS-DOS version (in zip form) here soon. The problem with
the MS-DOS is that filenames are limited to 8 characters in length, and this
causes problems with those warriors with similar names that are longer than
8 characters... When I resolve this problem, I will release the PC version.

I am the official Warrior Library Maintainer. Any warriors that you would
like to include in the next release, please send them to me at the following
address: sadkins@ohiou.edu (Scott Adkins). Likewise, if you have any
questions, corrections, etc, feel free to send me EMail.

NOTE: All redcode warriors that are posted to the public (notably, the
rec.games.corewar newsgroup), will automatically get included in the
next release of the library. Since I promote the distribution of
warriors among corewar fans, I suggest that you post your warriors
to rec.games.corewar, and I will automatically include them in the
next release of the library! :-)

The directory structure that I will maintain currently with the warriors
is as follows: The 86 directory will contain all warriors that will
assemble only for the ICWS '86 standard. Currently, there are no warriors
that fit in this category. The 88 directory contains warriors that
assembles for the ICWS '88 standard. The X directory contains warriors
that do not assemble for either of the previous two standards. Notice
that most of the warriors in the X directory will not compile for the
ICWS '88 standard because they use certain features not available in any
other standard. Examples of this would inclue post-increment mode and
B-Field immediate mode for MOV instructions.

This release currently has 261 warriors in the library! 246 of them are
for the ICWS '88 standard, and 15 of them are for the eXtended standard.
I look forward to this library growing, and I hope it will benifit all
who wish to learn and play in the game of Core Wars!
