*********************************************** * NSFCWT - Rules for round 5 * *********************************************** Relax. After sorting our opponent thoroughly, we're back to killing :-) This is a "random" round, where you get to write a warrior that works in an unknown core size and with an unknown process limit. The match consists of a round-robin with 100 rounds per challenge; those 100 rounds are broken up into 10 sets of 10 rounds with different parameters: Core size: 1000 .. 20000 Process limit: 10 .. 10000 Max. cycles: 10 * core size Max. length: 100 Min. distance: 100 P-space size: core size/16 Core size and process limit are chosen randomly and independently in the given interval, i.e. without human bias (let's see how this paper works with 100 processes :). All warriors fight with the same 10 sets of rules. To make things a little more challenging, you cannot use the predefined variables CORESIZE, MAXPROCESSES, etc. (there are ways to find out what the core size is in a few instructions). Nandor is running the next two rounds, so mail your warrior to sieben@imap1.asu.edu by Friday, Nov. 10, 20:00, MST. Good luck, Nandor and Stefan
